Spurs host Forest at The City Ground, hoping to pick up three more points and move into the top four.
Spurs are coming off a 4-1 win over Newcastle, and it appears that they will use the same starting lineup today against Forest.
Ange‘s expected lineup is as follows:
formation – (4-3-3)
Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario
Right-back – Pedro Porro
Center-backs – Cristian Romero & Ben Davies
Left-back – Destiny Udogie
Midfielders – Yves Bissouma, Pape Sarr, & Dejan Kulusevski
Right-wing – Brennan Johnson
Left-wing – Heung-min Son
Striker – Richarlison
Spurs dominated possession (56%), created big opportunities (7), got shots off inside the box (18), and got into the opposition box (46 touches) last weekend.
While club leader Heung-min Son has spent the majority of the season playing down the middle of the pitch, Ange had some rearranging to do with the return of Richarlison from injury these last two weeks. Choosing to return Sonny to his original role proved to be an excellent option. The captain was practically untouchable down the wing, contributing two assists and a goal in hand.
Richarlison got his footing at the top of the formation as well, scoring twice. With Dejan Kulusevski‘s apparent propensity for the number 10 role, as indicated by his strong performances there in recent weeks, it makes sense for him to take over again, especially given the absences of James Maddison and Giovani Lo Celso. Sarr and Bissouma round out the midfield trio, with Ange presumably saving Hojbjerg until later in the game.
The duo of Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie at full-back has been consistent with Ange’s starting XIs all season, and Ben Davies gets the nod at center-back, with Emerson Royal (a full-back) and Alfie Dorrington (a youth-team player) the only back-ups available.
Spurs will be hoping for another three points as they attempt to build on last weekend’s success and continue their fine road record.
