As previously stated, Maddison was seen exiting the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on crutches following the club’s victory over Manchester United on Saturday.

Rodrigo Bentancur

In February, the Uruguay international injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a game against Leicester and has since undergone surgery.

Earlier this summer, the former Juventus midfielder established a timetable of “two to three months” for his recovery, which might suggest he’ll be back in action by early September.

 

“It’s a long injury, one of the most difficult in football, but the truth is that I’m having such a good time with my family,” he explained in June. “I do double shifts two or three times a week and train the same way every day.”

“I brought the physiotherapist from the club to Uruguay.” We keep working, and my knee is going great. I didn’t set a lap time, but I’m hoping to gain a few minutes in two or three months.”

Mid-September 2023 as a possible return date

Ryan Sessegnon

Ryan Sessegnon was denied a prospective move away from Tottenham earlier this summer due to a hamstring injury sustained throughout the summer.

After undergoing surgery, the former Fulham teenager is unlikely to return before the transfer window closes.
