If Harry Kane leaves Tottenham Hotspur this summer, finding a suitable replacement would be critical.
Tottenham Hotspur may be forced to replace star Harry Kane this summer, and Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has revealed their top target to replacing him in an interview with GIVEMESPORT.
Losing Kane will be difficult for Tottenham, but it may be time for the north London club to cash in.
Harry Kane joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan
Kane has spent his whole career at Hotspur Way after graduating from the academy, but his contract is about to expire.
As things stand, the England international will be free to leave Spurs next summer unless Daniel Levy can persuade him to sign a new contract.
That is exactly what Spurs intend to achieve, but Kane may be looking for a fresh challenge after failing to win a major trophy during his time in north London.
According to The Times, Kane does not want to sign a new deal to prolong his stay beyond next year and is looking to join Bundesliga club Bayern Munich before the transfer season shuts.
Spurs are suddenly in a precarious situation because of Kane. They may either refuse to let him go this summer and hope he signs a new contract, or they can cash in now to stop him departing on a free transfer.
Levy will need to identify a suitable replacement this year or next.
What did Galetti have to say about the Spurs?
Tottenham‘s top aim to replace Kane, according to Galetti, is Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
They will, however, attempt to bargain with the Italian club since their present asking price is too expensive.
“As previously stated, Tottenham are targeting Dusan Vlahovic as a replacement number one in the event of Harry Kane‘s departure,” he told GIVEMESPORT.
“The Serbian player could leave Juventus in the summer transfer window for around €80 million, and the Bianconeri are eager to hear offers for him.”
“Spurs are about to take the first steps to better understand the room for negotiation with the Italian club, because the asking price is deemed too high.” Tottenham would prefer to reduce the request during negotiations.”
What is Tottenham’s next step?
If Kane leaves during the summer transfer window, Spurs will likely have many targets lined up.
Christian Falk, a BILD writer, recently informed GIVEMESPORT that Spurs are interested in acquiring Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker, though, is not interested in joining the north London club.
Without any European football next season, Levy and his recruitment staff will have a difficult time convincing players to relocate to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
For the time being, with Kane staying at Spurs, their attention may be on upgrading their defense after a poor Premier League season.
Journalist Paul Brown recently told GIVEMESPORT that Spurs had talked with Wolfsburg defender Micky Van de Ven‘s agents, while also adding that two centre-backs might walk through the door.
