Tottenham Hotspur have given a four-year deal to star midfielder Frankie de Jong in order to bring him into Ange Postecoglou’s side.
This offer comes after the player considered joining Mauricio Pochettino‘s Spurs back in 2018.
The North London club has undergone a revival this season, with Postecoglou’s arrival being lauded as one of chairman Daniel Levy‘s best selections in recent years.
The Australian, who won multiple honours at Celtic before transferring from Glasgow to North London, is becoming a more revered figure at the club. His fierce, high-pressing football style has sparked global praise, with followers including Gary Neville. As Tottenham competes for Champions League qualifying, his influence grows.
While Tottenham face another season without silverware, if their present form continues, it may only be a matter of time before they win big trophies. Tottenham‘s upbeat culture is already attracting interest, as seen by their ability to outmanoeuvre Bayern Munich and Barcelona in signing Radu Dragusin and Lucas Bergvall in January.
Tottenham has been connected with more significant names this summer, including Brentford star Ivan Toney. However, Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona has emerged as an attractive top target in recent times.
According to Jijantes FC and journalist Gerard Romero, Postecoglou’s side has renewed its interest in the midfielder. Tottenham allegedly offered de Jong a four-year contract in their pursuit of his signature, including making an out-of-window proposal to Barcelona.
