Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly offered Ajax prodigy Stanis Idumbo Muzambo a four-year contract, with the Premier League his most likely destination.
According to La Derniere Heure, Tottenham Hotspur is trying to bring in another highly rated adolescent after Ashley Phillips, Alejo Veliz, and Luka Vuskovic.
Stanis Idumbo Muzambo‘s contract with Eredivisie giants Ajax expires in seven months. Tottenham Hotspur have already approached Idumbo, offering him a four-year contract in the English city, according to DH.
Tottenham Hotspur are leading the hunt to sign Ajax whizkid
Ange Postecoglou‘s side are allegedly aiming to recruit the Belgium youth international born in France in January. Idumbo would be given the opportunity to train with Spurs’ first-team until the summer, when a decision on whether to loan him out or integrate him into Postecoglou‘s senior set-up would be made.
Monaco has also expressed interest. A club with a long history of signing exceptional young players and providing them with a stage to shine.
Monaco, on the other hand, intends to loan Idumbo to sister club Cercle Brugge. This has not gone over well with the players’ camp. Tottenham, according to DH, is currently the’most concrete path’ and appears to be the most likely.
Idumbo, a right-footed winger who likes to cut in from the left, has three goals in 11 games for Ajax‘s reserves this season in the Dutch second division. According to Le Vif, he is a ‘creative and spectacular’ player who would add blistering pace, good ball-carrying and ball-striking, and complex, brilliant footwork in tight spaces to Tottenham.
Spurs lead the race ahead of Monaco.
“(Idumbo) has excellent acceleration and likes to seek out the opponent (and beat him),” according to Voetbal Nieuws. “He likes to pop up in the opponent’s penalty area and likes to run long distances with the ball.”
Tottenham recruited Ashley Phillips from Blackburn Rovers during the summer, and Veliz joined from Velez Sarsfield in Argentina. Meanwhile, Croatian center-back Vuskovic will join when he turns 18.
