According to the Daily Mail, Spurs could wind up paying Everton £60 million in the deal to land the Brazilian.

Richarlison has had an eventful experience since moving to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In 46 outings for the club in all competitions, he has only scored five goals. Last season, he struggled to put any serious pressure on Harry Kane.

Richarlison appeared to be looking for an opportunity after Kane‘s departure this summer. However, he has only scored once this season in the Premier League.

Tottenham fans may be wondering if Richarlison would ever make an impact in North London. And clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea may believe they got a lucky escape.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham was willing to spend much more than either club to recruit Richarlison for an initial £52.5 million in 2022.

The Spurs’ desire to sign a Brazilian player was understandable.

You can see why the Spurs paid the money. Richarlison‘s ten goals helped Everton stay in the Premier League in his final season at Goodison Park.

And he can play anywhere on the offensive line. So he had a chance to make the squad while Kane was there, while also having the option to fill in for Kane if he got hurt.

Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. And Richarlison has only displayed flashes of brilliance since making the switch.

Richarlison still has time to establish himself and become a success at Tottenham. However, the Spurs must be concerned about their decision to bring him in.
