Tottenham: The club has received an update on the transfer of Lautaro Martinez.

Harry Kane might be replaced by the Inter Milan striker.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed whether Tottenham Hotspur will be able to replace Harry Kane with Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez after learning of their interest.

Is Spurs bringing in a striker?
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, is rumoured to be searching the transfer market after Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich, with Gift Orban of Gent and Romelu Lukaku of Chelsea being two of his top targets.

Evan Ferguson, a striker for Brighton & Hove Albion, was also the subject of a Spurs inquiry, but the club’s CEO, Paul Barber, has now stated that there is no prospect of him departing this summer, saying: “In Evan’s case, it’ll be in at least five years’ time!”

The Lilywhites are prepared to move quickly after performing their research on their top targets; Richarlison is not seen as a “long-term” solution to lead the line, and Jacobs has now provided a summary of their prospective possibilities.

Lukaku may no longer be Tottenham‘s top aim, according to the writer, who said:

Spurs now need to find a Kane replacement. Romelu Lukaku has been ruled out as the person in question.

Jonathan David of Lille was the most likely target if Kane departed Spurs before Fabio Paratici left. One still can’t rule out a strategy. Spurs are interested in Lautaro Martinez as well, but Inter is unwilling to sell.

Before Harry Kane moved to Bayern, there was never any substance to a trade involving Kylian Mbappe. PSG did look at Kane, but they were aware that he favoured Bayern.

Lautaro Martinez has how many goals?
If Inter decides to relax their attitude and listen to offers for their striker, he might be a terrific signing for Tottenham, given his spectacular performances for the Italian side in Serie A and the Champions League, as well as his consistent scoring for Argentina.

The Argentine has scored 102 goals in 238 games for Inter Milan, including ten in the Champions League, and has also scored 21 goals in 48 games for his national team, establishing himself as a great performer.

When compared to his positional contemporaries, the £184k-per-week forward is in the 83rd percentile for assists per 90 over the past year, and he is not hesitant to pitch in defensively, rating in the 98th percentile for interceptions.

Martinez, who has been described as “absolutely incredible” by members of the media, may be a top signing for Tottenham, but it does not appear likely that he will leave this summer, unless he pushes for a move, considering that he is under contract until the summer of 2026.

It is critical that Postecoglou finds a replacement for Kane before the transfer window closes, so pursuing a player who is unlikely to be available is pointless, and he should move on to other targets.

Jacobs believes that Tottenham may still be interested in Jonathan David, and the Canadian might be a terrific signing after scoring 24 goals in 37 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille last season.
