Tottenham to shock Manchester United and Arsenal with record-breaking bid for Euro club’s most prized talent

According to rumours, Tottenham Hotspur has made an offer in an attempt to outbid Manchester United and Arsenal for Poland’s Sebastian Szymanski.

Following spells at Legia Warsaw, Dinamo Moscow, and Feyenoord, Szymanski joined Fenerbahce last summer. The centre offensive midfielder is thriving in Turkey, with 12 goals and 14 assists in 46 games so far.

Fenerbahce paid €9.75 million for Szymanski, which now looks like a steal. According to transfermarkt, the player’s worth has more than doubled to €20 million (£17 million). Szymanski has been named Fenerbahce’s new most valuable player, partnering left-back Ferdi Kadioglu.

His outstanding achievements in both the Turkish Super Lig and the Europa Conference League have sparked interest from big Premier League clubs.

Tottenham were the first English club to be associated with Szymanski, with Ange Postecoglou a great fan of his. In January, it was even suggested that Tottenham would do ‘everything’ to reach a deal with Fenerbahce.

However, on February 23, sources confirmed to TEAMtalk that Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in the 24-year-old.

Tottenham, Manchester United, and Arsenal have all dispatched scouts to watch him play this season, with the club officials returning to England impressed.

Turkish outlet Aksam has offered an update on the situation. According to reports, Spurs and Serie A club Napoli have prepared bids for Szymanski.

Tottenham is in a solid position to sign Fenerbahce’s ace.

AC Milan is also in the running, while Spurs and Napoli are presently leading the transfer market.

Italian clubs are only willing to bid up to €18 million (£15 million) for Szymanski, putting Spurs in a good position.

On February 27, it was revealed that Fenerbahce will only allow the playmaker depart if a €25 million (£21 million) proposal is received.

A sale at this price would break Fenerbahce’s record departure, presently held by Elvir Baljic and Vedat Muriqi (both €21 million).

However, Spurs will not be scared off by the price. Spurs are willing to spend a lot of money to bring Szymanski to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium because Postecoglou believes he is the best fit for the team.

Spurs are looking for a new centre-forward, in addition to strengthening their attacking midfield. Serhou Guirassy, Santiago Gimenez, and Ivan Toney are some possible possibilities.
