Tottenham are looking to buy Ajax wonderkid Gabriel Misehouy, whose contract in Amsterdam expires this year, according to Tottenham News.
Misehouy is yet to make his senior debut for Ajax, but has impressed at the junior level this season.
The 18-year-old midfielder has six goals and three assists in 11 games for Ajax’s Under-21s this season in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
Misehouy has made an impression on the international stage, scoring for the Netherlands‘ Under 16 and 17 teams before making his Under-19 debut on September 11, 2023.
His current contract with the Dutch giants expires in June 2024, and a recruitment source familiar with Dutch football has told Tottenham News that the two parties have yet to reach an agreement on a new contract.
As a result, Tottenham News understands that Spurs may attempt to take advantage of Misehouy’s contract problems and make an offer for the offensive midfielder.
According to Fabrizio Romano on his official X account (December 27, 2023), Tottenham are also interested in Misehouy’s Ajax teammate, Belgian midfielder Stanis Idumbo Muzambo.
Ange Postecoglou demands a midfielder with attacking flair and the capacity to play more forward up the pitch, which Misehouy has proved this season by playing four times in attacking midfield and once on the left wing.
Spurs are currently short on midfield alternatives, with Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, and Pape Matar Sarr all unavailable, and might profit from an addition at Hotspur Way this month.
