Tottenham’s ‘fantastic’ player won’t be playing against Luton this weekend

Tottenham have been rather lucky with injuries so far this season.

Indeed, despite a few scares along the way, Spurs have been able to field perhaps their strongest XI each week thus far, barring one or two concerns here and there. The north London club face Luton Town this weekend, and they will be missing one of their summer recruits.

Brennan Johnson is now expected to miss this weekend’s match against The Hatters, according to The Athletic.Johnson, of course, missed the match against Liverpool over the weekend due to a hamstring injury, which appears to be persistent.

It’s a genuine shame for Johnson, who will have been expecting to establish himself at Spurs after joining from Nottingham Forest, and a game against a poor Luton side would’ve been an excellent opportunity for him to do so.

Unfortunately, that opportunity has been taken away from the ‘great’ attacker, but Spurs should still be able to win this game.

Indeed, Luton Town have been in disarray this season, and Spurs will be confident of taking all three points even without Johnson.Of course, winning any Premier League game is easier said than done, but if there was ever a time when Spurs could get away with missing a vital player due to injury, this is it.

Fortunately, with an international break on the horizon, Johnson should be available for Spurs’ next game against Fulham later this month, which also represents a good opportunity for the Wales international to get on the scoresheet for the first time for his new club, given Fulham’s recent struggles.

We can only hope that Johnson’s hamstring injury heals quickly and that he is back in the game before too long.
