Tottenham’s star claims that suggestions that he is injured and need surgery are ‘false.’
Richarlison has dismissed rumours that he requires surgery after suffering yet another injury.
With Harry Kane on the verge of joining Bayern Munich (The Athletic), the burden of leading the line for Tottenham this season is going to fall completely on Richarlison‘s shoulders.
Various sources in recent weeks (notably from Alasdair Gold – Football.London) have claimed that the Brazilian is believed to be Spurs’ main number nine, with the North London side likely to recruit a young, up-and-coming striker such as Gift Orban as a backup.
Richarlison has shown during pre-season that he possesses the qualities to thrive upfront in Ange Postecoglou‘s system, with the Australian even claiming a few weeks ago that the former Everton man is the ideal profile for his team (BBC Sport).
Richarlison denies need surgery.
However, there are also allegations circulating on social media that the 25-year-old may be out for a lengthy amount of time due to an injury that necessitates surgery.
The striker has since denied those rumours, reacting to an update from Instagram account Spurs Programme with a comment that read: ‘Fake’.
While Richarlison has dismissed the necessity for surgery, he has clarified whether he is injured or totally fit. Hopefully, that aspect of the update is also a hoax, because we sorely need him to lead the charge at Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday.
