Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Aston Villa about a three-player exchange after submitting a revised Jacob Ramsey bid, according to Football Insider.
The proposed trade would bring Giovani Lo Celso to Villa Park, while Ramsey and one other undisclosed Villa player would join Tottenham.
Tottenham are interested in signing the Villa offensive midfielder and have proposed a cash-plus-players deal in a new attempt to get him this summer.
According to sources, Villa valued the 23-year-old at £50 million, with Spurs offering players to cut the price outlay.
Ramsey was expected to be the biggest departure from Villa Park this summer, but Unai Emery chose to keep him after the club made other sales.
Having been sent out on loan twice to Villarreal during his stint at the club, Lo Celso has found it difficult to establish a consistent spot in the Tottenham starting lineup. In just 19 games across all competitions last season, the 28-year-old netted two goals and provided two assists.
Ramsey played in 21 games and managed just one goal for Villa in the previous campaign, so he wasn’t a regular either. The adaptable midfield player did, however, face some injury issues during the course of the season.
In other news, Tottenham has two players in mind to take Harry Kane’s place.
