What Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie did during Tottenham vs. Liverpool says it all.

Following Tottenham’s victory over Liverpool, Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr were very happy with the outcome.

Despite not playing in the victory against Liverpool, players like Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven, and Guglielmo Vicario were among those who personified the culture that Ange Postecoglou has created. Even though his team has been beset by injuries, the Spurs manager managed to make four changes to his starting lineup, two of which had to be enforced.

Captain Son Heung-min returned, new signing Antonin Kinsky made his goal debut, and Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur into the starting lineup after Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison were suspended. After only a few minutes, Postecoglou also lost Bentancur to a frightening injury, although the player has subsequently stated he is fine.

Though it would have been for a completely different purpose, Lucas Bergvall was also fortunate not to depart early. The 18-year-old was sent off for a mild foul on Luis Diaz, and he did not receive the ball after slipping into Kostas Tsimikas.

Stuart Atwell, however, did not exercise a second warning when playing the advantage, as Bergvall scored the game-winning goal shortly after the contentious event in which Tsimikas was removed from the field. The players who were available made a fantastic effort despite the numerous absences and the team’s two wins in the previous six weeks.

Despite a crucial second leg at Anfield, Tottenham presently leads Liverpool in their Carabao Cup semi-final. Fortunately for Postecoglou, that match is not for another four weeks, and by then, players like Van de Ven, Ben Davies, Richarlison, and Cristian Romero might all be well again.

Wilson Odobert, Vicario, and Udogie are still anticipated to be absent, although their presence on the sidelines has apparently been beneficial. Vicario, Sarr, and Van de Ven were all seen rejoicing in the win, while Udogie expressed his actual emotions.

He shared a story of himself, Sarr, and Odobert having fun during the festivities on Instagram, writing, “N17 [white heart and fire emoji].”
Attending home games with the entire team in attendance and having a good time is a true testimonial to what Postecoglou is creating. The team’s on-field performance also demonstrated their strong support for the manager; hopefully, this will translate into consistent outcomes that will reward their hard work.
