When does Leeds United’s January transfer window open and close?

LeedsLive has tracked when the Leeds United transfer window starts and ends.

Leeds United can enhance their roster for the first time in four months now that the January transfer market has officially opened. A tough Christmas period may have provided Elland Road executives with the reality check they needed to back Daniel Farke even more this month.

The Whites can kick off their 2024 campaign with a win over Birmingham City tonight, but off-field events might make or break Leeds‘ season. A busy summer following relegation from the Premier League resulted in a significant makeover of the playing team.

Farke was able to bring in nine new players to reconfigure his squad for the Championship after many high-profile players left. The January transfer window gives clubs the opportunity to bolster their rosters or completely shift their fortunes if they choose to spend money.

Last month, Farke stated that Leeds expects a “quiet” window, but that they may do business if the appropriate offer comes up. “Obviously, this club needs stability after two difficult years and, to be honest, a very, very difficult spell from August to September,” he remarked.

“We’re not going to sleep. We wish for a tranquil January, but we will not sleep, and if decisions must be made, we will make them, and you never know what may happen. I’ve been in this industry for far too long and have seen far too much to rule anything out.”

LeedsLive has compiled a list of when the window will open and end this month.

When is the transfer window going to open?

Just now! English clubs were able to complete their winter business as soon as the clock struck 12 last night. The same timeframe applies to German and French clubs, although Spain and Italy cannot begin business until tomorrow.

When is the transfer window going to close?

Leeds has until 11 p.m. GMT on February 1 to finish their winter activities. This is Europe’s longest transfer window.
