Tottenham are on the verge of announcing their first January transfer window agreement, which will be a new long-term contract for Pape Matar Sarr.

The Athletic reported on Sunday that the teenage midfielder is in line for a new contract and has already agreed in principle to sign a new contract with the club.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed the reports, saying that an agreement had been reached and that an announcement would be made soon.

And the transfer expert has now updated the situation. According to him, the transfer is finalised and the agreement with the midfielder has been signed.

He claims that the only thing left is the documentation, which is being prepared as we speak. His new deal with the club will be announced soon and will be valid until 2030.

Romano provided an update on X:

“Understand, Pape Matar Sarr‘s new Spurs contract will be announced soon.” It’s all set, we’ve reached an arrangement with the midfielder.”

“Paperwork getting ready and then Tottenham will be able to confirm one more key extension after Destiny Udogie.”

The 21-year-old has been outstanding for Spurs this season, appearing in 18 games and starting 16 of them.

Since being promoted to the first squad, he has made an immediate impact and created a powerful partnership with Yves Bissouma in the midfield.
