Willy Gnonto of Leeds United suffers a setback due to a probable fracture – Injury Expert

According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto may have a fracture on his ankle after damaging his ligament.

According to the injury expert, surgery on the ligament is uncommon, and even if the ligament ruptures, he may be able to return in four weeks.

He suffered an injury in the first half of last week’s 0-0 draw with Hull City and has not played for the Whites since.

Brar, a Physical Therapist and Sports Scientist, said exclusively to MOT Leeds News about Gnonto:

Gnonto tore his lateral ankle ligament, keeping him out of action.”

“This means he suffered an inversion ankle sprain, in which the ankle/foot inverted, stressing the ligaments on the outer ankle.”

“The timeline is typically determined by the severity of the ligament damage and possible fracture, but surgery for the ligament itself is uncommon.”

“Even in grade 3 lateral ankle ligament ruptures, the typical timeline is four to six weeks.”

Gnonto appeared to be on his way out of Elland Road in the summer but eventually stayed.

He’s looked lively on a few occasions this season, but he knows he’ll have to be at his best to reclaim his place in the starting lineup.

Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter are virtually unstoppable, although Dan James, Jaidon Anthony, and Crysencio Summerville have all shown promise.

Gnonto‘s primary focus right now will be on regaining full fitness and being considered for selection.
