“Without a doubt,” many anticipate that the unhappy Leeds star will try to leave in January.

Joe Gelhardt is expected to pursue leaving Leeds United in January following Daniel Farke’s decision.

“We are thrilled to have Paul Robinson, a former England goalkeeper, join us as an exclusive columnist. Paul will provide his thoughts on the main talking issues at Leeds United every week.”

Paul Robinson claims that Joe Gelhardt may look to leave Leeds United in January due to a dearth of first-team opportunities this season.

The 21-year-old would likely play more in the Championship when Leeds was relegated, especially after his productive loan to Sunderland the previous campaign. He has only received two starts this season, though, and has not appeared at all since Leeds defeated Millwall 3-0, in which he played just one minute.

Although Gelhardt scored in the Whites’ 2-1 League Cup triumph over Shrewsbury Town earlier this season, Daniel Farke has not chosen the young player over Joel Piroe, Georginio Rutter, or even the often injured Patrick Bamford.

Robinson wouldn’t be surprised if Gelhardt, given his “frustrating” circumstances, was eager to depart in January even though Leeds had a “selfish” need for quality options.

“It’s going to be frustrating for Gelhardt because he was on loan last season, playing well and scoring goals,” Robinson stated in an exclusive interview with MOT Leeds News.

It will be annoying for me personally to not be a member of the squad. There are two perspectives on it. From the club’s perspective, they wish to hold onto their roster and their finest players.

“They are aware that not every player will be available; just take a look at Patrick Bamford.” From a self-serving perspective, the club should retain all of its finest players if they can afford to and the pay cost permits it. It will definitely be tough for him at his age and with such a dearth of first-team play and involvement.

“Should the chance to go on loan present itself in January, he might consider it, provided the club permits him to do so.”
