Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp appears to be intrigued about Stefan Bajcetic.
Liverpool‘s Carabao Cup final victory over Chelsea included a lot of young players coming off the bench.
Bobby Clark, James McConnell, Jarell Quansah, and Jayden Danns all appeared in a big success story for Liverpool‘s development squad.
There was no Stefan Bajcetic, whose miserable season continues.
The 19-year-old broke onto the scene last season, but an adductor problem has troubled him throughout the year.
Bajcetic has not kicked a ball in the Premier League and has only played 72 minutes in total across all competitions.
This has been a lost season for Bajcetic, who should have been among the young players creating history in the Carabao Cup final.
Jurgen Klopp discusses Stefan Bajcetic.
The hope is that Bajcetic will return sooner rather than later, and he has already impressed Jurgen Klopp.
According to Anfield Watch, Klopp has revealed that he wonders why Bajcetic isn’t playing for Liverpool right now.
Klopp watched Bajcetic jogging around the Liverpool training field and was impressed by his fitness levels.
The Liverpool manager stated that it is not his decision if Bajcetic will return, noting that there must be a cause for his absence.
Klopp feels Bajcetic is ‘totally pain-free’ right now, but his first-team debut will have to wait.
“I had lunch here and noticed him training. “I sat there and thought, ‘Why is he not playing?'” Klopp explained. “He’s certainly becoming fitter now. He’s racing around going, ‘Wow!’ He’s doing everything, but he hasn’t received [the] green light for our team training yet. And no one in this building wants to hold him back, so there could be some reasons.
“He is pain-free, and that is the most essential thing. We ran all of the exams and scans again, and the bone looks fine. Now we just need to make sure that when [we decide] to utilize him again in normal training, because football is such a physically demanding sport. He looks decent to me, but I’m not sure how good. I can’t decide. Nobody warned me he’d be back soon,” he continued.
Bajcetic will be a welcome addition to the Liverpool squad, having already demonstrated significant potential in the Reds’ engine room.
That he missed Sunday’s game and witnessed other young players grab the spotlight will hurt, and we believe the Spaniard will be desperate to make up for lost time when he returns.
