Xabi Alonso’s destiny could be crystal evident in the coming weeks.
Guillem Balague has recently reported on X (previously Twitter) that the Spaniard ‘is resolved to select his future’ within the next month or so.
Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid all reportedly interested in the 42-year-old’s services.
Addressing Balague’s evaluation of Liverpool.
We’re great fans of Balague, it’s worth noting, but we think his judgement of Liverpool is at least somewhat incorrect.
‘Can Liverpool improve from where it is now?’
Isn’t this the manager’s responsibility? Aside from that, we have a truly world-class setup at the club, which has been strengthened by the additions of Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards.
When you combine that with a young roster brimming with talent and promise, it’s evident that this Liverpool team is a rocket ship ready to launch.
The question isn’t ‘Can Liverpool Step Up’… Can Alonso be the man to stand up to the plate?
According to Richard Keys, Alonso is set to join Liverpool.
Keys’ claim may be debatable, but here goes.
“As I often say when I disclose news like this, these large transactions can always go wrong.
There’s a lot that can go wrong when they’re blue riband, whether it’s a player or a coach/manager, but according to my understanding, Alonso has opted to join Liverpool.
If I am a Liverpool fan, that delights me.”
It’s unclear whether the former Sky Sports reporter is on the right track here.
However, if this is the case, it is quite fantastic news.
We’ll have to wait and see what our former player says in the coming weeks.
