Yaya Toure is apparently a huge fan of a 23-year-old youngster that Tottenham want to sign.

Yaya Toure admires Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, who Tottenham Hotspur is allegedly contemplating signing this summer.

After acting rapidly throughout the early parts of the transfer window, Spurs now appear prepared to support Ange Postecoglou in the upcoming weeks.

As Postecoglou works to restructure his team, Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, and Manor Solomon have already been acquired by Tottenham.

With the club planning to look at defensive reinforcements and perhaps another new face in midfield, Spurs won’t be concluding their business there.

Indeed, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg‘s future at the club is in doubt due to Atletico Madrid‘s interest. And according to The Telegraph, Connor Gallagher has emerged as a potential candidate to take the position of the Dane.

According to the source, Chelsea would ask for about £50 million in exchange for the England international.
After a stellar 2021–22 season on loan at Crystal Palace, Gallagher has had trouble securing a spot in Chelsea’s lineup.

During his time at Selhurst Park, the 23-year-old scored eight goals and assisted three more in the Premier League.

At the time, he apparently impressed Yaya Touré, the former coach of the Tottenham academy.

Toure is a major Gallagher admirer.
Toure stated that Rodri of Manchester City and Gallagher are the “first names he thinks of in terms of midfielders who impress him right now” in a 2022 interview with The Times.
Of course, Toure just left Tottenham to become the assistant manager of Standard Liege in Belgium.
But at the time, Gallagher received tremendous plaudits for being among the best midfielders in Premier League history.
Since returning to Stamford Bridge, Gallagher has struggled to regain that form. He does, however, have a ton of promise.

Postecoglou would appreciate his relentless work ethic off the ball, and he has already shown that he is capable of contributing well in the final third.

Tottenham’s interest in the Englishman is still up in the air, and considering their unwillingness to pay on players thus far this summer, it’s hard to imagine them parting with £50 million for him.
